Year 4 children have been exploring a dark, noisy and crowded place... the Amazon rainforest! The   children were surprised to find that over Christmas, trees, shrubs and vines had grown up the walls   and across the ceiling. Some jungle creatures had even made themselves at home, "there is a   toucan, it is a bird with a long beak" (Felicity). The children worked in character as explorers,   tracking animals using a footprint identification key and searching through the forest in the   classroom. Urte said, "I've seen an elephant footprint and also an okapi, but I'm not sure what that   is." The classes listened to the sounds of the rainforest and have already learnt several unbelievable  facts! Pawel said, "the anaconda is a huge jungle snake and it likes water!" Ethan said, "the more colourful the tree frog, the more deadly it is!"
