READING

The most valuable homework for children at Peckover is READING. Please read a book to your children each evening and hear them read too. Sharing and discussing a book with your child is an incredibly important thing to do, it helps children develop vocabulary and develop a lifelong love of reading.

OTHER HOMEWORK

Each term your child will be sent home with a ‘Knowledge Organizer’ which will have some key facts about the theme they will be studying for the term. The organizer contains links for children to complete further research into the class theme. We expect children to learn and explore these key facts. We hope as a family you enjoy exploring and researching together.

Each class teacher may also give work to be completed at home which may include, mathematics, times tables, spellings, art projects. The length and regularity of these pieces depends on the age group of the child.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

We strongly encourage parental support with homework. We work together to ensure homework is completed and handed in on time. If you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher, who will be only too happy to support and help.
