Year 1 have been busy! In Design Technology, Year 1 have been learning to prepare fruit and vegetables. As part of our learning, we have had to taste test lots of different fruits and vegetables and learn skills like chopping, peeling and grating. We then designed a fruit and vegetable face and got to make and evaluate them! We think the final products look 'berry' amazing!

Peckover does BBC Children in Need....in style! We welcomed Laura-Jayne, from LJ's Dance Academy, who is our dance teacher, for a techno-crazy-dance class, with flashing things! It was so much fun and very noisy. Thank you to LJ - not sure how you managed to keep going for 5 sessions, back to back - your energy and enthusiasm was infectious! We even had a special visit from Pudsey, who was a great mover! Thanks

What a game and what a performance! This afternoon, the Peckover Falcons secured an impressive 6–2 victory against Nene and Ramnoth Primary School. Every player contributed brilliantly, demonstrating teamwork, determination and skill throughout. An excellent result and a superb team effort.

Last week, Year 1 completed their ‘Spirals’ Art sequence. We used the whole of our body to make spirals. We began inside using large pieces of paper, handwriting pens and art pencils. We explored the artist Molly Haslund and discussed the space that she uses to make her spirals in open spaces such as a park or a playground. We talked about how we might feel and what we might do if we saw these on the play

What a day Year 6 have had today! We arrived very early at school, to begin our adventures to Duxford, as part of our World War II topic, and also a 50beforeY7 activity, to use public transport. Doves invited parents and grandparents in to perform their Harvest songs we had been learning in RE and Music. During our Year 5 Geography field trip to Hunstanton, we observed several key coastal features, beginning with the striking, multi-coloured cliffs composed of white chalk, red chalk, and brown carstone. This week in Year 1 as part of our History topic ‘Living Memory and Families’, we invited our Grandparents in for an afternoon of playing with games and toys from the past. We finished the afternoon with the first ever episode of Postman Pat which first aired 44 years ago! The hall was filled with laughter and fun! We all had a wonderful time.

Although the game ended in a narrow 2–1 defeat, the team demonstrated exceptional effort and skill throughout.
