Peckover Admissions

Primary School AdmissionsChoosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we are delighted that you are considering Peckover Primary School. We welcome applications from all families and aim to make the admissions process as straightforward as possible.

All applications for a place at our school are managed by Cambridgeshire County Council, in line with the Brooke Weston Trust Admissions Policy which you can access via the link below.

How to Apply

Applications for a Reception place in September 2025 must be made through Cambridgeshire County Council using their online Common Application Form, available via the link below:

Applications open in September 2024 and close in January 2025.
National Offer Day will take place in April 2025, when parents and carers will be notified of their child’s school place.

If your application is unsuccessful, the Local Authority will inform you of how to submit an appeal.

Nursery Admissions

Our Nursery provision follows the same admissions principles as the main school. Details of how to apply are available from the school office.

When more applications are received than there are places available, the following criteria will be applied in order of priority:

  1. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) naming Peckover Primary School.

  2. Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children.

  3. Children living in the catchment area with a sibling already attending the school.

  4. Children of staff employed at the school for two or more years, or recruited to a post with a demonstrable skills shortage.

  5. Children living in the catchment area.

  6. Children living outside the catchment area who have a sibling link.

  7. Other children who meet none of the above criteria.

If more applications are received within any category, a distance tiebreaker will be used to determine priority. Priority will be given to children who live closest to the school, measured in a straight line from the home address to the school’s reference point.

Full details, including the catchment area map, can be found on the Cambridgeshire County Council website.

If you wish to apply for a place during the school year (for example, if you are moving into the area), this is known as an in-year application.

All in-year applications must be made directly to Cambridgeshire County Council via their school admissions page.

Where spaces are available, we will contact you to confirm the offer. If the year group is full, your child’s name can be added to the waiting list managed by the Local Authority. Waiting lists are ordered according to the school’s admissions criteria, not the date of application.

If your child is not offered a place at Peckover Primary School and you wish to appeal, you can do so through Cambridgeshire County Council’s School Admissions Appeals process.

  • Primary Appeals Deadline: 20 May 2025

  • Appeals heard between: 9 June – 22 July 2025

Appeals are heard by an Independent Appeals Panel in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code (2012).
