Welcome to Peckover School              

Peckover is a large primary school in the heart of the thriving market town of Wisbech. We are lucky to have a diverse and vibrant community where everyone feels safe and special. It is a happy place to learn, where children, staff and parents are valued and welcome- a place where we all work together. In April 2025, OFSTED described our school as ‘a gem of a school’ and recognised that we create a welcoming, caring and supportive environment for pupils and families.

Our Ethos

We want every child to love school and to leave us not only with skills for life, but also with wonderful memories of their primary education. We listen to children; they are fundamental to all we do in school. We value their input and want them to feel a part of making their school a better place.

From Nursery, to Year 6, we provide a curriculum which challenges, excites and ignites curiosity in our children and will enable them to become successful, lifelong learners. We believe in the importance of making their learning rich in memories and opportunities.

There is a strong emphasis on the teaching of basic skills of reading, writing and maths to the highest standard. In order to commit these basic skills to long term memory, we repeatedly and relentlessly refer to them in all aspects of learning. Our children are ever challenged to be the best they can in all aspects of school life.

In 2013 we took the exciting step to join the Brooke Weston Trust. This means that we benefit from being part of a larger and extremely successful academic organisation and having access to facilities and opportunities beyond a school’s normal scope.

Our staff are a skilled and passionate group of professionals, who want the very best for our children and families. In our OFSTED report in April 2025, this was recognised by the inspection team, who said that Team Peckover ‘are committed to helping every child to reach their full potential.’
