Nursery

Thank you for your interest in Peckover Primary School Nursery. We are proud of the education and care we provide within a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.

Our highly skilled and experienced staff work closely with children and their families to ensure every child has a happy, fulfilling and rewarding start to their educational journey. The children in our nursery make many new friends, develop their confidence and have lots of fun along the way.

Our nursery is an integral part of Peckover Primary School, a highly successful and well-respected school at the heart of the local community. Nursery children benefit from being part of the wider school environment and many continue their journey with us by progressing into our Reception classes.

Attendance

If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please contact the school office before the start of their session.

Children are asked to wear a plain red T-shirt, plain red jumper and plain jogging bottoms, leggings or shorts. You will be provided with a Peckover Primary School red T-shirt, red sweatshirt and a named red book bag.

Uniform can be ordered via the link below:

http://designandembroidery.co.uk

We also have a Sharing Shed which offers a range of pre-loved uniform in various sizes. Please feel free to visit and take a look.

Clothing should be practical, comfortable and easy for children to manage independently. Please remember that children take part in a wide range of activities and are likely to get messy whilst learning and exploring.

Children should wear flat shoes or trainers with closed toes. We recommend Velcro or elastic-fastening shoes to support independence. Lace-up shoes are not suitable for nursery.

To enable outdoor learning in all weathers, children will also need a pair of named wellington boots and a waterproof suit, which can be kept at nursery.

Please ensure that all clothing and footwear is clearly named and that your child has two complete changes of spare clothes available at all times.

If your child wears earrings, these must be plain stud earrings only.

We provide fresh fruit each day as a healthy snack for all children.

Children should bring a named water bottle so that they can access a drink throughout their session whenever they are thirsty.

Children attending Lunchtime Club can enjoy a free hot meal. Alternatively, if you prefer, your child may bring a named packed lunch from home.

Please be aware of the following guidelines for packed lunches:

  • Fizzy drinks, sweets and chocolate are not permitted.
  • Grapes must be cut lengthways to minimise the risk of choking.
  • Shellfish, nuts and products containing nuts are not allowed.

These measures help us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children.
